Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Clip CEO (the "App") is designed with privacy in mind. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Who We Are

The App is published by Boon IT SRL, the data controller for purposes of this policy.

3. Data We Collect

Data you provide:

  • Video URLs you submit for processing
  • Feedback you provide on processed clips (emoji ratings, comments)

Data generated by the App:

  • A device-based anonymous identifier (no email, name, or login required)
  • Processed content: structured documents, summaries, and extracted data from videos
  • Credit balance and purchase history
  • Anonymous product analytics: in-app event names (e.g. "screen viewed", "credits purchased"), app version, device type, locale, and approximate country derived from IP. Collected via PostHog (EU region) and not linked to any personal identifier.

Data we do NOT collect:

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • Location data
  • Contacts, photos, or other device data
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
  • Cross-site tracking data

4. How We Use Your Data and Lawful Basis

  • Process video URLs and generate structured content, performance of our contract with you (you request the service)
  • Maintain your credit balance and purchase records, performance of our contract with you
  • Manage your subscription status via RevenueCat (our subscription management provider; payments are processed by Apple), performance of our contract with you
  • Improve the quality of AI-generated content based on feedback, our legitimate interest in product quality
  • Anonymous product analytics, our legitimate interest in product improvement, with no impact on your privacy beyond what is described above

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following providers, each only for the stated purpose. We do not sell or rent your data to any third party.

  • Apple (App Store), payment processing and in-app purchase delivery
  • RevenueCat, subscription management
  • Supabase, backend (database, authentication, realtime, edge functions)
  • Amazon Web Services (S3 and CloudFront, eu-north-1 region), asset storage and global delivery
  • Google Gemini, intelligent transcription
  • Anthropic Claude, page composition
  • PostHog (EU region), anonymous product analytics

Each provider is bound by their own terms and data processing agreements and may only use data we share for the purpose of providing the service to us.

6. International Transfers

Boon IT SRL is established in Romania (European Union). Some of our providers operate from the United States, specifically Apple, RevenueCat, Google (Gemini), and Anthropic (Claude). Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, the transfer is governed by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and any supplementary measures the relevant provider maintains. PostHog data is processed in the EU and is not transferred outside the EEA by us.

7. AI Content Processing

Content you submit is processed by Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude through their paid APIs. Per the enterprise data terms of both providers, your content is not used to train their models and is not retained by them beyond what is necessary to fulfill the request.

8. Third-Party Content

The App processes publicly available short-form video content from platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Original creators retain all rights to their content. We do not claim ownership and use creator content only to fulfill your processing request and, where applicable, to display the resulting page on our public library.

Creators who wish to have processed content removed can email support@clipceo.com.

9. Data Retention

  • Processed clips and structured content are retained until you delete them
  • Video files are temporary and deleted after processing
  • Your anonymous user ID is retained as long as the App is installed
  • Purchase records are maintained by Apple (the payment processor) and RevenueCat (subscription management) per their retention policies
  • Anonymous product analytics are retained for up to 12 months

We may retain an anonymized copy of processed content (structured documents, summaries, and extracted data) for use on our platform. This data is not linked to your account or any personal identifiers and cannot be traced back to you.

10. Data Deletion

You can delete individual clips from within the App at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, use the "Delete my account" entry in the App's settings or email support@clipceo.com. We process deletion requests within 30 days. Anonymized library content that cannot be linked back to you may remain on our platform.

11. Your Rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority, in Romania, the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP, www.dataprotection.ro)

To exercise any of these rights, email support@clipceo.com. We respond within 30 days.

12. Tracking and Advertising

We do not track you across other companies' apps and websites. The App does not access the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA), and we do not show ads.

13. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

14. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure storage, and access controls.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
